Australia Day, Queensland Floods & Money

In regards to putting the fireworks off this year for Australia Day, I say we shouldn't, but make use of the event as a fundraising opportunity and event to recognise the hardwork and toll that this disaster has put on everyone involved. If 75% of the country attends an Australia Day event with a Gold Coin donation for entry, That's $75 Million+ towards assisting the recovery of affected areas across Australia.

The Federal Government could even (Although it's highly unlikely) put 30-50% of the current financial year's GST revenue into a National Disaster Relief fund for affect people.

There should be some sort of national digital thank you card that we could have everyone digitally sign/add a message that we can arrange to have sent out to all the hard working emergency services that have worked tirelessly for weeks since the flooding began. They've been doing an exceptional job helping everyone affected through the floods.
